TVAM Face Wash - Lavender & Aloevera : Review

Today I am going to review one of my favorite facewash. Its so calming to the senses, I wish I could just keep sniffing on it throughout the day. I am talking about Lavender & Aloevera face wash from TVAM.

About TVAM Face Wash: Lavender & Aloe Vera Foaming Face Wash is gentle, oil free. It thoroughly removes impurities and treats the skin leaving it soft and clean. It is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin's moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.
  Price: INR 988 for 200ml

Ingredients: Lavender, Margosa (Neem), Aloe Vera (Ghrit Kumari), Holy Basil (Tulsi), Gel base, Purified water, Preservatives [Dmdm hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone] & Color.

How to use : Moisten face, apply a small amount of face wash and gently work up lather with circular motion. Wash off and pat dry.

My Experience with TVAM Face Wash:

This face wash has an awesome fragrance of lavender and it's very calming and soothing to the senses. The color of the facewash is also pale pink-purple (lavender to be precise). It lathers pretty well and a small amount is required for one application.

It removes dirt effectively and at the same time does not rip apart moisture from your face. I loved the feeling post usage of this product. Doesn't leave the skin dry or stinging. It leaves the skin truly cleansed well.

As regards the ingredients used, you can see the most companies now have resorted to disclose only the active ingredients used in the products. This one has the goodness of neem, aloe vera and tulsi. They have also mentioned the usage of some preservatives namely- Dmdm hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone. I love the fact that TVAM has at least disclosed the names of the preservatives for the general public to decide.

Methylisothiazolinone is widely used in personal care products for controlling microbial growth in water-containing solutions; Methylchloroisothiazolinone is a preservative with antibacterial and antifungal effects and Dmdm hydantoin is again an anti microbial agent. All the three preservatives may cause skin irritation depending on the quantity and concentration used but are largely found to be safe for skin. My argument as always is that although we must exercise caution, but we need not be much skeptical as their is not a single product in the market that can claim to be chemical-free. The only difference lies in the fact that which company uses more or less harmful ones.

The price of the face wash may pinch many people as one may get good face washes at a reasonable price. But if you want to indulge yourself, then this is the product for you.

My Final Take: I strongly recommend this face wash for a) fragrance; b) mild to skin; c) does not rip off moisture. So go ahead and buy it.

PS: This was provided to me by the company as a PR sample for review but the product has been adequately tested by me before the review and I have expressed my honest opinion.
